Own a Piece of Maritime History - an Overfalls Lightship Rivet!
2/1/2007
Remember Rosie the Riveter? She supported her cause. Join the growing group of people who have purchased an individual Lightship Rivet for $250 to support our fundraising efforts. We have many more rivets to sell, and now we also have other ship items available as "Naming Opportunities" listed on our Capital Campaign webpage. One major expensive project lies ahead, and it must be completed before we can bring the Overfalls lightship back to Lewes, DE: the construction of a permanent berth in the Lewes Canal. It’s easy to help out.Just fill out the rivet application form here, write a check for $250, put “Capital Campaign - Rivet” on the memo line of your check, and send your check with your application form to:
Overfalls Lightship Capital Campaign, Attn: Rivet Ownership, Box 413, Lewes, DE19958. Or, if you prefer to use your credit card, you may use our secure online donation form. Just be sure to give us the "Name(s) to be printed on Rivet Log" by using the "Comments" section at the bottom of the form. The Overfalls Maritime Museum Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and all gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.
The Overfalls Lightship was the last riveted lightship built. When you purchase a rivet, you will receive a certificate inscribed with your name and the exact location of your rivet. Your name will be added to the Overfalls Rivet Log located in the kiosk at the entryway to the Overfalls Lightship. (Of course the actual rivet will remain riveted in place on the Lightship.)
