Happy Birthday LV-118 (Lightship Overfalls)!

On June 4th 1938, LV-118 was christened in East Boothbay, Maine and was then named Cornfield in recognition of the lightship station at Cornfield Point where she would first be assigned.  Sometimes referred to as the ship’s birthday, a ship’s christening is when it is launched and first touches the water.
