Overfalls Family Program – Why knot?

Why “Knot” come to the Lightship Overfalls and have some tying yourself up in knots!

Knots are used for sailing, rock climbing, camping, trucking, boating, fishing, surgery, decorating and many more different activities. Knots can be made from a variety of different materials such as rope, cord, twine, yarn, and thread. On Wednesday, August 14 the Lightship Overfalls will hold its third and final Family fun program, “Why Knot?” at 9:30 on the grounds of the ship at Canal Front Park, Lewes. Participants will explore the ship hunting for knots lightship sailors used, learn how to tie some and leave with a craft involving some knot work. The program is free and geared for children 5-12.
